Update:

Two years in a row, my watch is slowing down at 7 months.

I used two different people, once the shoemaker on 47 off 13th, and once the watch repair guy on 49th off 13th.

For 7 months after putting in a new battery, the watch tells perfect time. Is it more likely an issue with the battery I got from 2 different places, or is the watch the problem?

The shoemaker's brother who has a table in front of Candy Man on 47.

Only my Concord do I take to Simpson's to replace the battery.

Person who replaced my battery last told me it would be good for a year and its only 9 months.

Is that ok?

I've replaced batteries at Ultimatime and it lasted a long time. Much more than a year.

On 49 off 13th there's a great watch repair guy. He has odd hours though.

Thanks all.

The place I went to was mentioned here, and I went tonight to ask why it didnt last a year. Shoemaker said his brother who deals with batteries will be there on Wednesday.

Im thinking to try another one of the places mentioned, and again keep a record of when new battery was put in.

Its a large face Citizen watch that I can still buy for $100 but I really like it.

I think anyone who knows what theyre doing and wont break the watch and will give me a battery that lasts for a year, will do.

Another vote for ultimatime

wouldn't risk cheapies on the streets if you're talking about a good watch.

Sometimes its other things like movement or trapped dust that is getting in way

It just means that particular battery lasts 7 months.
I have a Concord from Simpsons and bring it in to replace every 2 1/4 years. It's just how it works out. Do I expect a Concord battery to last longer at the price I pay? It is what it is.

Shoemaker on 47th says 2 factors to how long the battery will last:

1- Where you keep your watch (I keep mine in relatively heat and moisture free places).

2- Expiration date of battery.

He put in a battery that expires in 2027.

This will be interesting.
