Sautee 1 bag shredded green cabbage on super low flame one hour covered. Add 1 bag cooked and drained bow tie egg noodles. Season it all with 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 1/2 tsp salt and black pepper. Taste and add more as needed.

It’s what many people call “kraut lokshen”.
Cabbage noodles are delish. Often on the heimish bow tie egg noodle bags it has the full cabbage and noodles recipe.
I add sautéed diced onion to to the sautéed cabbage.

I cook the cabbage for far shorter and season mainly with onion soup mix. Sooo good and my kids love it.

yummy oily heimish!

I clicked on all of them. Here's how to make them much better.
Like others said upthread start with sauteeing onions. Don't use a lot of oil. It tastes much better if it's not oily not to mention healthier.
Use a tablespoon of oil to saute two diced onions. Sprinkle with half teaspoon salt. Saute half hour or more, covered on a low flame until onions are golden.
While onions saute, mix 1 1/2 lbs shredded cabbage with 2 teaspoons salt. The salt will wilt it a little.
When the onions are very soft put the cabbage on top and leave covered on a low flame.
Mix after 10 - 15 minutes and add 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper and 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar.
Leave it on a low flame, covered, for another 45 minutes to an hour until the cabbage is golden brown. Mix occasionally. If it's sticking add a teaspoon oil and a tablespoon water. Taste and add a little salt, pepper or brown sugar if you want to.
Mix with your favorite cooked noodles.
The pictures in the recipes above are the wrong color. If the cabbage is still white and crispy it's not done. The long saute brings out the flavor without needing to add tons of oil which ruins the dish.
