Met at a mutual friend's apartment for shalashudus and then later at another friend's apartment. A friend made the actual shidduch so it was "kosher." That was almost 30 years ago.

Bit of both, shadchan and a relative of my husband, and our family friend mentioned it.
I voted shadchan because it went through him.

My mothers best friend and my DHs chavrusa are siblings . They came up with the shidduch but asked a shadchan to be the one to handle the entire process.

Thats quite a large pool of options. Care to elaborate?
I feel that since so much info is already online - either put there by people themselves on social media, or just gerenal info, it should be so much easier & more accurate to pair people up nowadays - especial dedicated to the frum world. Either through an algorithm, or a dedicated shadchan sifting through information - but probably a combination of both.

My 8th grade cousin & her best friend. (who ended up becoming my sister in law) Basically suggested her cousin for her friend's brother.
Basically 2 girls who decided they wanted to become related
It ended up being given over to a shadchan but they thought of it!!!
