No one freak out. Don't worry I'm not going to be thinking about Purim for a while just figured I'd do a service and start this thread with costume ideas. Hopefully the list will run until closer to purim.
PLEASE keep it to ideas and photos. No requests or stories. The goal is for everyone to read through lists easily for inspiration. It can be individual costumes or for a group.
I'll start with some things on the top of my head, and everyone please add in anything you can think of. They can be typical or creative ideas.

King/Queen
Mordechai/Esther/Haman
Football player/ cheerleader
Curious George/ man with the yellow hat
Goldilocks and the 3 bears
Snow white and the 7 dwarfs
Policeman/donut
Stickman figure
Pirate/ parrot
Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory
Harry Potter

we did a popcorn theme
pop corn (dh and dd)
mom corn and baby corn (ds)
shalach manos in a big paper popcorn cup
filled with a small can of corn , butter pop corn and small things to fill and then a bottle of wime or something with it

I popped pop corn and glued on a shekel store headband and on shekel store earrings so dd and myslef had popcorn on us
I bought red electric tape and taped regular white shirts with red strips of tape downward
(I find that children till a certain age only feel comfortable in real clothes and dont want to take the costume off all the time- so I make the costume in real clothing)

we did a hospital theme
parents and 2 kids were doctors (I got coats from my aunt who works in the hospital for the grown ups and I sewed 2 from dh's old shirts) we added glasses, band aids, magnifying glasses
one kid was a patient (I ordered inflatable crutches on ebay nd sewed a hospial gown)
one kid was a hatzala emt
shalach manos was in a macabi pharmacy bag ( I asked them at the pharmacy and told them why and they were happy to give me
there were water bottles, apples, bandaid shaped cookies, a vial filled with 'prescribed' chocolate lentils etc.

one year we were all painters
I took old jeans pants and skirs, old shoes and white tops that were already not so white anymore and put them all on the floor and Messed different color paint everywhere
then I used huge pickle and olive cans for the kids to hold and glued paper 'drippings' on the sides
I gave each child one or 2 big real paintbrushes, and then a pencil behind the ear and a key ring with lots of keys, a meter measure, etc etc

shalach manos had regular cookies in the shape of a pallette
I found empty pallets in the shekel store 6 divided with a paintbrush and we bought a huge bag f chocolate lentils and spent a whole afternoon dividing the colors and then filing each mound in a diffrent color ( I wish I knew how to post pics)
etc etc

Q: Does everybody here do these themes and family group costumes?

We've done that one or two times, but usually every person does his own thing.

Our kids wear costumes to school as well as to shul, so we need costumes that make sense on a stand-alone basis and not necessarily in groups with siblings and parents.

Some ideas we’ve done in the past:
Weather reporters and snowmen
Game night
Amelia Bedelia
Deck of cards
Princesses, butler and maid
Camp
Old mcdonald
Fishermen and fish
5 little monkeys
Hangman

Cutest I’ve seen was a family of sisters each wearing a sister of the bride sweatshirt with slinky skirts and makeup and hair done. The littlest girl was a kallah. Father wore a father of the bride shirt and on the back there was a barcode that said “scan for payment”

actually I got it all planned out. ive been thinking all day
this year we are 7
day 1 abba is day and night (easy black pants white shirt (he hates dressing uP)
day 2 imma is sky- wear blue and white
day 3 dd is a flower princess- I will order artificial flowers onaliexpreess and glue on a pretty (old)white dress and on a headband to make a huge flower crown
day 4 child will be dressed as solar system (look up miss frizzle costumes on pinterest- along those lines)
day 5 child will be dressed up as under the sea - all navy with corals glued on and clownfish etc
day 6 toddler will be something with animals not sure yet
day 7 baby will be dressed in shabbos clothing

shalach monis will be a shoe box type box with
(day 1) black n white cookie
(day2) something to do with sky- maybe cupcake with blue frosting and mini marshmallows for clowds
(day3) cut and clean lettuce
(day4) star shaped candies
(day5)fish crackers
(day6) animal crackers
and (day 7) a bottle of wine for shabbos

OMG I love it. thank you amother for the idea
