I left my challah out overnight and now it's dry. Is there a way to remoisten it? Was thinking of brushing it with water and putting it back in the oven. The inside should still be quite moist but the outside is going to taste like cardboard. Not sure if it makes a difference but it's whole wheat. Please help! TIA!!!

Warm it up in oven with an uncovered pan of water in the oven at the same time to create steam.

I'll try that thanks! For how long? And should it be boiling water?

Disclaimer I've never tried this so I don't know if it will work but if they're still hot maybe put them in a plastic bag and seal it so the steam stays in. It might soften it up a bit

I'm sorry, was offline! I would have done a much lower temperature to give the water time to heat up and generate steam without making the crust too hot beforehand...
But I like toasty crust fresh out of the oven so if you heat it before serving it might be quite delicious.... Not heated up is very dry, I agree
