For a baby to stop pooping multiple times a day? Baby is two months old, is nursing well, and occasionally has a bottle (formula)

Is still very normal for a breastfed baby.

Still does at 8months...

But the type you mean, where every diaper is dirty, eases up. My baby was better at 2 months. I think I stopped mid night changing at 4 weeks. It is really individual.

I guess I wasn’t clear. My question is it normal or concerning that he’s NOT pooping all the time?

a breastfed newborn usually poops as they eat, or right after. you want bowel movements! constipation is a bigger issue trust me

It could be. It could also be that he’s absorbing breast milk so well that There’s barely any waste. My exclusively bf baby went 2 weeks without dirty diapers and the doctors weren’t concerned. They should X-ray to see if there’s a ton of buildup inside or not

He’s pooping, just sometimes only once in 24 hours. Should I be concerned?

If he seems happy and is having wet diapers I wouldn't be concerned about once a day

Yes, that's well within the normal range.

My doctor said it's normal for babies that age to poop anywhere from 10 times a day to once in 10 days -- both are normal.

Had the same question with my 2 month old literally last week and the pediatrician said if his tummy feels soft, he still has 6-8 wet diapers a day, and is otherwise happy that there's no reason to worry.

My daughter pooped often once a week and we were told that for exclusively BF baby, still within range of normal as long as she was making wet diapers and growing.
