Not really sure where to ask this question..
Been married for many years but my social security number is still under my maiden name.
I live in New Jersey.
The last time I looked into charging the name was during covid and all the offices here were closed.
Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do?
Online? In person?

I live in NY.
The process was really simple for me, I'm assuming it's more or less the same.
I completed an application online and made an in-person appointment.
They reviewed my application and documents, and I left. I got my card two weeks later.

Same for me. I live in Ohio and honestly, changing my name on my Soc Sec card has been the easiest part of the name-changing process. Same with drivers license. The hardest part, ironically, has been changing the utilities, like the water bill.

I keep wondering if I should change my name on my ss but I didn't get married in the states and I have been a resident for years.
My passport has my married name but I always wonder if I'll run into issues with this in the future.
Has anyone changed their ss from Israel? What state are you considered if you aren't a resident anymore?

So I just filled out the online form with all my information.
It says I should go to the social security office within the next 45 days.
I’m a little nervous because my first name is different on my old ss card than my legal name on all my legal documents. (It has my Hebrew name.. I don’t know how if my birth certificate has my English/legal name)

I never changed my name. Didn’t think it was an issue . I had to renew my drivers incense and they didn’t let me cuz my social had my maiden name . I went to the social security office ( it’s down the road from the dmv in Toms River ) and it was super super easy ! - bh 2 weeks late my new social arrived and I was able to renew my license.
