At what age should a toddler out grow the 's' lisp and the 'r'. My three year old son still sounds terrible. When do we consider speech therapy?

He is young and can outgrow. My red flags would be...
Does he have an anterior or posterior tongue tie? Does he have normal.dental alignment?

SLP here. It is very developmentally appropriate not to be able to say 'r' at 3. You wouldn't try to address that until 6 or 7.

How much is the 's' affecting his intelligibility? It's also very normal to have a lisp at this age. Like PP asked, do you see anything that seems to be physically preventing him from making this sound? If not, I would definitely not address it for another few years at this point.

Not affecting him at all. His teacher tells me he's way above the class, he also has a high vocabulary. That's why the lisp disturbs me LOL
I'm not concerned. Was just wondering when speech therapy is necessary.

Slp here. Not before 6-7 for those sounds.

My son is 3.5 years old with a lisp. Should I be correcting his speech at this age or let him be?

Definitely let it be.
The s (and r) sound can come in as late as 6-7.
