If I am not ordering personalized thank you cards with my baby's name on them to send to people who gave us baby presents, can I use my thank you cards from my wedding with my name and dh's name on them, or should I just buy cheap generic thank you cards?

Makes absolutely zero difference. Better to use looseleaf paper and actually send the note than buy engraved parchment and not send.
