So if you are comparing your job to teaching in certain frum schools, then ok.

But, in effect, the workload you describe is what lots of teachers do everyday. And, depending on their location (outside the tristate area, teaching salaries are nowhere near as high), they may not be getting paid more or even equivalent to your salary.

Basically, after reading similar posts/thread here, I think it is pretty clear that working as a therapist for an agency is a good choice for someone who wants either a part time job or one that is very flexible and is ok with being a supplementary income earner in the family. (Which is not that different from teaching in a frum school.) Not for someone who needs to either be the primary breadwinner or be a full two income household.

I am curious, is this still one of the "hot" careers that new BY graduates are gravitating towards? Or are there other fields that are trending more? I know fewer are going into teaching.

Especially because they get paid for all the off time. For example this past october there were only 6 days of school due to chaim. Teachers got paid a full month, I got paid for 6 days.
Teachers don't lose money when students are absent. I do.
Also teachers get a lot of tip money for chanukah/purim. Everyone assumes the rich therapists don't deserve it (I deliberately give my child's therapist more than I give their teachers because I know they are worse off)
Also teachers get big tuition breaks for their daughters in the school. I don't.
So teachers come out waaaaay ahead of speech therapists. And they work less hours
( again this is all specific to the school I work in, and similar type schools in my community. Not your fancy mo or oot school)
