So my kids need help figuring out what costumes to get for Purim.
Middle of the road yeshivish ( no media characters, nothing scary).
My daughter has a lot of trouble socially and is immature. The costumes she wants are babyish and her classmates will make fun of her. They are a giant clique. It's bad...
I need something that will be socially acceptable... and it's my first girl and have no idea what to get her!!

So, what are normal costumes for 1-2nd grade girls?

Usually anything goes at that age. Go into the local costume store and ask what that age is buying.

I'm trying to remember what my students dress up as. Literally anything.
A gumball machine, old fashioned girl, cupcake, 1000 princesses, clown...
What does she want to be? when will her friends see her on purim?

No frum costume/toy shop in my city. No one to ask...
Any amazon links?

She needs something totally acceptable and mainstream, if there are 3 others in the class that is fine.
They have a dress up day before Purim so the whole class will see her.

Not really... that is more the 5 year olds. The 7 year olds all were "something" last year. I just can't remember any!!

What does she want to be? I'm assuming something frilly?

She can be a butterfly. You get wings. A tutu in a matching color, antenna headband.

Totally done all the time in Lakewood and enjoyed by all ages.

Kallah
Princess.
Butterfly
Stewardess
Bubby
Mommy
Baby
Teacher.

Anything really goes honestly. Please don't stress about it and let her pick her costume. Anything will really go. Don't feel that they are babyish.

My Purim rule is that they can be whatever they want as long as they tell me two weeks before so I can buy or make the costume and get mm to match.

I think all girls ages kindergarden-8th LOVE tutu's. they come in every color. let her pick her best color and then just match up some cute accessories in costume store -necklace, wig, hat etc

You can order online by Dress America. They're the manufacturers. The owners are the same as the heimish Toys 4 U. So there goes the frum costumes. On site they only have a few which they don't sell in the Jewish stores, which wouldn't be appropriate to sell in Williamsburg like dragons....

You sound way too stressed about this. As long as she looks cute and she's confident it's ok!
Maybe an american girl doll? stewardess, a waitress, a nurse, a gardener, an ice cream, a baker, a chef....

Main thing is give her the confidence that she looks the cutest! And relax yourself that it's just a costume and she's just a little girl and it's going to be ok! And if no one else in the class has it than it's so original! As long as your confident, anything goes. And if you're unsure and feeling self conscious than nothing will be good for her.

Frum owned store that opens only seasonally for purim. All costumes that are appropriate no s-xy type. Many frum citites have one. Why is it funny?

think carefully before you discount the costume your daughter wants.
Usually, when children ask for a costume it is therapeutically good for them.

If mommies would know how theraputic choosing your own costumes, there would be NO FAMILY THEMES WHEN IT COMES TO PURIM COSTUMES.
