The price of eggs have not gone down. They're still rising and there's been a lot of egg smuggling at the Mexican border lately because of the rising egg prices.

The were between $5-$6 last week. Now they are $3.79- local farms. Check gourmet glatt

Some stores are purposely branding themselves as luxury and their prices reflect that. They do it on purpose. I don’t think about them when it says “shop local”. I think about buying from regular places like Center of Town, Brooklyn Southwest, Closeout Connection, hosiery plus…

I am not going to pay double the price for anything because it’s a Jewish store. I may pay more for convenience. I am curious, I think we are required to support a Jewish business up to a certain price diffence. I am not sure if that’s true or what the percent is. I want to ask my rav.

I understood that as long as the price difference is enough to matter to ME, then I can shop in the other store. It's not just price difference either, if the other store is more convenient for whatever reason you can shop there as well. It's only if everything is equal between stores that the obligation kicks in.

Great thread OP. I'm following.

In general, I've found Brooklyn Southwest and Junees for ladies/teens clothing.
Obviously Tottinis, Kidichic and Sage for kids
Torah Treasures and Jedaica Plaza.
Center of Town
NPGS and Gourmet Glatt
GlattBite
Bagel Nosh
Village Pizza

Anyone else?

Junee's for clothing! It seems like they are the only store in boro park that did not rise along with inflation
I was recently in Passaic at the pizza shop in Aisle 9 Market...I forget the name
The total for our lunch order was less than half of what we would pay for the same lunch in Boro Park
I dont even know how its possible

A slice of pizza was like half the price. And it was delish!

It’s probably from the original high price stock. I paid $3.99 in kosherwest. Btw kosherwest still doesn’t charge for bags.

Evergreen is still the cheapest on fam pack chicken cutlets

Eateries had to raise prices. Look at the cost of eggs and chicken.

I’m curious why Aldis charges $1.39 for celery and GG charges $3.99!

GG has gotten crazy expensive on everything. When they have a sale some of those items are reasonable but as far as everything else? Much much higher than other stores

I haven't found that. They have a decent selection of "off brands" and sales.
Btw, this week I saw red and yellow peppers for $1.99/lb.

Great thread op!
Let’s show these stores that we’re not like sheep on our way to the slaughter while they laugh their way to the bank.
We will be congnizant of the stores raising prices unethically and we will act on it.
Time for the stores to own up and stop price gauging everything! B
