I dont get it if u have to go somewhere take the baby with. I take my newborn into every room I go to. bathroom kitchen etc. or I keep the newborn locked in my room . in my old house it worked real well . I had french doors so you were able to see in at all times. so I saw the baby all the time through the windows and the babies were all safe there. swinging sleeping etc. the name of the game is to keep your eye on the newborn at all times.
I take my newborn to the bathroom shower etc. it works.
also I drilled into all my kids that newborn musnt be touched. it works they dont touch them. once they are six months I slowly ease up on my restrictions. basicly they leave the newborns alone its the toddler that they dont leave alone. they shelp him everywehre . he is their live doll...
