Regarding this recipe, did anyone attempt to make it yet?
It looks intriguing but I have some questions.

Is the dairy free yogurt flavor vanilla or plain?

When the recipe calls for celery powder, did you use specifically celery powder or celery salt or celery flakes instead? I don't see celery powder in any of my local stores and I rather not splurge and buy an expensive large container for a small amount...

TIA!

Didn’t make it (yet), but it’s gotta be plain yogurt. It’s a sub for buttermilk, which is definitely not vanilla flavored.
If you have celery flakes, I would think that’s about the same thing. (?)
If using celery salt, would reduce the salt in the recipe.

I think I'm OP.
I think I messed up a little in the recipe. I didn't eat it but DH did and although he said it came out good, the coating on the final product did not appear the same as what the pic looked like.

Maybe others can chime in

Funnily enough the recipe still calls for MSG.

Why is everyone posting anonymously on this thread? Do you really think that people are going to identify you and realize all the things you said about your mother in law because you wanted to make a certain chicken recipe?
Anyway, I keep wanting to make this, but I haven't found any non-dairy plain yogurt. I've only seen DE, vanilla flavored. I looked at both Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

This is from the recipe that’s on the Instagram reel. Why does it say 1/2 cup kosher salt for the big batch spice rub? That’s definitely a mistake. Not sure how much to use instead though.
Also not sure what to use for celery powder, I’m not buying celery seeds to grind up for just 4 tsps. Celery flakes aren’t the same thing. Gonna use chicken soup consomme instead of MSG powder since I don’t have and idk what other use I’ll have for MSG (besides stir fry)

Is celery powder the same as ground celery seed?
