Is anyone else like me and can’t follow fashion because my figure doesn’t allow?
I’m very short and around 15-20 pounds overweight. I’m so happy when I buy a new top that looks good on me (hides my fat) and I just pair it with a black skirt 😐. It’s the best I can do….
I have teenage girls and try to buy them nice things each season because I know how it feels to look different.
If anyone has any ideas for my body type…I’m probably a size 12.

I'm about the same size but people consider me trendy. I buy what suits my figure but try to be somewhat in style... (for example: I'll buy a linen dress, but black instead of light pastels. Or in the winter I wore a dress that was flattering for my figure, but styles it with a short cardigan.) I also style my wig based on the trend, but suit it to my face (for example: I wore a wig tucked behind my ears, but left strands out in the front to make my face look narrower). I also wear trendy shoes.

Yes, I do the cardigans in the winter and have a nice wig… I have issues with my feet so shoes are not the most trendy but I make sure they aren’t worn looking and buy something new each season.
I’m in Florida for a few days coming from the freezing cold tristate area. I’m in my summer tops from last summer… I don’t like how I look! I need the winter clothing for more coverage!
I really need help before summer hits..

Get what's flattering to your figure. As long as the clothes look good on you and are somewhat in style you can look trendy.
There are many styles that are in this season. Get what suits you best. If geometric makes your figure look good- stick with that. If you look better in solid colors- stick to that and get the colors that look good on you. Big white sneakers are trending this summer- those would probably be good on your feet.

Why so combative and hostile she gave her opinion based on her work and experience.
You have a different experience and are seeing that doesn’t mean one is right and one is wrong, there are different designers and shows.
Why not just say I am still seeing florals in new products, if you like it, you won’t look out of style or such….

Ugh noo 😫 I was hoping Oak was right because florals are unflattering and look too old ladyish or little house on the prairie

In the fashion world, it's not like in 2022 "abc" is in and in 2023 all of "abc" styles vanish. Usually you see the 2022 trend for a few extra years until it phases out. Of course we still see florals but if you're very fashion forward and like new trends then you won't buy the florals this season anymore.

Same with Revolve.com
Florals and ruffles are definitely still in. The problem is, once everyone starts wearing them the trend is by definition on its way out so you won't see them on the runway and I wouldn't stock up on them. But yes, still being sold in all the fashionable stores. Here's a good rule of thumb: if you go to a Simcha and everyone is wearing the same thing- don't buy any more of it.

Im not sure that you can put it like that.
Spring/summer season and florals have always gone together. They have always been a pair. They will never "phase out".
In the years that specific styles and colors were "very in", think maxi coats or the color lavender, and over the years many other styles and colors have been "very in" as well, they were "very out" almost as quickly.
What do you see as "very in" for Spring/Summer 2023?

Last summer I saw alot of ribbed tops matched with floral skirts for weekday wear. What would be in this season?

Of course there still are lots of florals out there. However, there are much less florals than the past few seasons and much more solid colors. Hence, it is safe to assume that the florals are phasing out and the solids are coming back. (obviously, they don't change the look completely from one season to the next. It changes slowly)

How are solid colors a trend and not a basic/classic?
How insecure should one be to wait for a trwnd to wear asolid color?

It's solid colors, but specific colors. Such as light blue, mint green, pastel colors...

Thanks for all the info.
Anyone fashion savvy out there like to link me some outfits so I can get even more of an idea?

Full dresses in those colors? T-shirt and shirts in those colors? Skirts in those colors? Can anyone elaborate?
Are these colors for every day? Shabbos? Weddings?

like I said earlier the florals are very strong this season and will be again next season. The other fashion designer may be following the non jewish trends which are in fact very different.
Every single jewish and many non jewish brand went heavy on the florals this season.
But all it takes is one influencer to convince everyone otherwise and then has everyone turning their noses on the florals but no worries florals are very high fashion this season
