Having a shabbos Simcha next week and I'm looking for tips to avoid having my eye makeup smudge while sleeping. Specifically underliner.

Get a good waterproof liquid eyeliner. Put on one layer, let dry, then another layer on top, repeat. Mine stays on and I use the cheapest brands.

What brands have you found best?

What about underliner, I find that gets smudged no matter what I do. I don't think liquid eyeliner would work for under eye.

It's the oil from your skin or foundation thats making it transfer.

I use a drier formula of waterproof eyeliner (elf is a nice cheap one) and then I set it with a thin flat brush with an off-black eyeshadow. I try not to use too much black powder. And I powder my undereye well with translucent powder.

I do get transfer sometimes but these things help me.

Get fake eyelashes applied and you won’t have to wear eyeliner. Only solution that works for some

This gel eyeliner. Doesn’t budge. Will not cannot smudge. At most, sometimes a little corner will be off in the morning, but not usually and never ever smudges. Just be aware to fix any mistakes as soon as you apply it or it will be hard to fix after it dries. Also as I use it only for Shabbos, it basically lasts forever. I last purchased it almost 2 years ago and plenty still left.

Another option is this liquid one. I’ve never tried it, but heard from a few people that it will last for days without budging.

Don’t use underlines. Not flattering fir most people. Makes eyes look smaller.
Will feel weird not to use just.
Because you’re used to it. Try it.

What does it mean to set it?
