There are certain fields which many college kids go into because of the economic benefits.
On a certain level it is sad if they aren’t suited and would hate the jobs but it is what it is. My experience is that most people aren’t passionate about their jobs but do it because they need the money. If they didn’t need the money they would quit. Not that your job should be absolute torture every second but realistically work is work. 🤷♀️ |
Finance and computers, primarily. Many fewer doctors, for example, than in the past. That's just one field, but I'm kind of worried that in 15 or so years we as a community will feel the lack of new frum doctors.

This is not singling out OP but good health insurance provided by an employer is an extremely valuable benefit especially since it is not taxable income.
So when considering the total compensation package, health insurance is an extremely importantly consideration.
For OP’s child, it could be worth at least $10,000 in terms of comparing it to other jobs when considering options.
