if you go for a car type costume, let your son play around with it before purim so that he gets comfortable, sometimes kids get scared of costumes, but finally get used to it after purim is over, and want to wear it for a week ....

Bumping this to see if anyone has more ideas for me. I do like some of the options mentioned but nothing 100% yet. Tbh my credit card isn't ready for me to make any purchases yet anyhow so I have more time to collect suggestions;) thanks all!!

Honey bees costume. shalach Manas can be honey items such as honey bbq chips, honey granola bars, honey mustard etc..
Also did an ocean theme, mermaid I found a modest one in Marshall's, pirates, and my husband sea captain.
Also was chinese family very easy to put together. Shalach manot take out boxes, or for adults Ramen noodle, vegetable egg rolls duck sauce, chowmein noodles etc.
