And already I can't believe it's almost a year that we have lost the last gadol in our generation... 
Opened this thread to encourage some stories or personal experiences anyone had with R Chaim Kanievsky..

We had a Shabbos guest recently. He is in his low 40s, MO. He shared with us that he had a terminal form of cancer. I don't remember the details but they gave him no chance to live.
He went to EY, and met with Rav Chaim. Rav Chaim advised him to grow a beard. He grew a short beard. This was a few years ago.
Today he is cancer free. He still has his beard.
