I know a few people that bought gowns and resold them immediately after so they were still very much in style! ( you buy for $500 and resell for $400, it means you only spent $100!)

this is my favorite website I have gotten 4 gowns from them under $100 if you are under 5"5 you will probably need to hem.
Order one and two sizes up you can always return check their return policy. Only takes about a week or two to get the order and their customer service is great.
Most of the dresses do require a shell but if you do a navy blue color it blends it perfectly.

Why dont you try the lawrence gown gemach? Its $100 to rent
If your husband is in klei kodesh its free to rent (never understood this rule)
They have gorgeous stuff
