Agree. Stick to the experts. Go to an airway specialist and myofunctional therapist

She's an SLP trained in orofacial myology and myofunctional therapy. She'll refer you out to an airway informed dentist or orthodontist if you need tongue tie revision and/or palate expansion. Or to an ENT if she suspects other structural issues. She herself can work on proper tongue placement, oral motor skills, swallow coordination etc.

My son was like this. He was low tone, narrow palate and drooly. He had trouble nursing as a baby. When he started solids he gained weight a bit better (he was always skinny) but it was kind of scary because he used to forget to chew and swallow whole pieces of food or overstuff his mouth and then spit it out, or just hold it in there for a while. So I always made sure to sit with him while eating and talked to him about chewing and modeled it for it, chewing and swallowing, chewing and swallowing, talking to him about not putting too much in at once, that type of thing. And he grew out of it.
He is a very sensory kid, still, and I think this was just part of it.
Make sure any caregivers he has know about it too so they can keep a close eye on him eating for safety.
