Is matzah in the oven a true story? Because I resent Holocaust-based fiction. The Holocaust has countless true stories, both tragic and inspiring, that people can write about. Making stuff up trivializes the reality.

yes, his name was ישעיה

Not very original, but Ani Maamin, the one that was composed during the holocaust by a group of people on their way to Auschwitz. I'm always envisioning the crammed cattle car and those men on the way to their deaths, singing their last song...
Breaks my heart.

Tatty my king, by Waterberry Mesivta. I like the accapella version by Benny friedman better.
A few secular songs by singers who's names I no longer recall-
.."because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk.."

"I would hold you in my arms..take the pain away.. I'm sorry for blaming you, for everything I just couldn't do.."

And Bette Midller's song "wings"

Also, songs on Journeys by Abie Rottenberg, esp. " "I was made way back in 1842.."
Twins in the womb, because I lost a sibling I was very close to..

This is the tune to an old MBD song. "Yes there's a dream, a vision deep within our hearts, that we'll rebuild the beis hamikdash part by part...."

Mimkomcha by Yeshivashir.
The conductor, Yoely Dickman, somehow got hundreds (thousands?) of people to sing the classic Mimkomcha. I cried the first few times I watched this. It's awesome.

I recently came upon the song "afikomen" on spotify and thought it was so touching, I didnt even know that it was about Elisheva and yisroel until watching the youtube video now.
Any songs about grief make me cry, especially after a close family friend was killed in a plane crash a couple months ago,
glitter by dalia oziel
heartstrings by pinny schachter
both songs were created for young men who passed away

Heartbreaking. Just came out.
I was so moved when I heard this song many years ago, and every time since.
He does an absolute beautiful rendition.

Eta. I just realized that many ppl here don't listen to music already. We keep the second part of sefira.

Pleasure!
Interestingly, I noticed that the Mishpacha magazine had a feature on these mass choirs in their Pesach issue.
The name of the concept I think is Koolam or something similar. I believe they said that this yeshivashir choir was the first, but others have copied the concept of attracting thousands of men and boys with tickets, teaching them a song with harmony and then performing, all within 2 hours or so.

If you liked this one Google the other ones by Yoely dickman.
Yeshivishir 2 is Abba
Yeshivishir 3 is lo amus ki echyeh.
(I think, I'm not certain about the order)
They are all amazing.

Come with me little neshamale - I was a staff member in camp when a young relative passed away. The ride they sent me with to go into the city for the lavaya played that song on auto repeat the whole way there. Since then I can’t hear that song without crying thinking of my young relative.
