I need to vent!!!!! How obsurd! We are a middle class family paying tons of taxes and again I tried to apply for a Gov Program and not approved... I think I should stop working and thats it. Won't have to pay for daycare and be approved for programs which will cover the expenses that my paycheck goes to...

thats the decision I have just come to about next year. or as soon as I can realistically leave my job. Then I will be eligible for lots of benefits and can stay home with my baby

It really is sad that the dove government gives incentive for people to stay home versus working. But it might be financially more beneficial for you to stay home.

Our government is dumb. They encourage people to sit at home and not make an effort to work. Take advantage of that.

I personally am very grateful that I was able to work through the baby stage even though lots of my paycheck went towards childcare.
Today I am doing very well in my field BH.

I don't think you can get daycare vouchers if you aren't working.

someone told me that if you already have the vouchers for the following year you only need to work for a minimal amount of hours. after that it's reassessed. unfortunately that's different then your situation though op, I'm sorry it stinks

I totally get the frustration, but I wouldn't choose to stay home. In most fields, competency and salary build slowly over the years. I put in my time as a young mom at the bottom of my professional pay grade, but at this point have the experience and skill to command a much better salary. Of course, this depends on your area of employment and weather or not a career, as apposed to just a job, is important to you. It was to me, and I'm glad I invested those years in my professional growth.

When I went back to school for my job, I quit my job instead of doing both at the same time and for those few years I had medicaid and vouchers which legitimately made me richer than when I was working.
Now B"H my job pays me much much better because of said degree and yes I don't get gov't services but I do make money.

How do you get vouchers when you’re not working?
What are other examples of aid people can get if not working?

Thanks for the encouragement. This is one of the reasons why I am not leaving. I have a great job with a lot of future potentials to open my own business. When ppl hear how much my and Husband make a month with just one baby they are THAT IS TONS!!! but these ppl never eat at home- almost no food expense. Have help with rent... I just told someone that with food +car + baby expenses + rent I stay with probably 300$ a month.
I think the judgement that I don't get to save on my income is the worst.
PS I am really not a spender.

Keep your eye on the ball sister.
You are actually in a great place long term. Life is not about the sprint.
Keeping up your earning potential, setting up a life that can be lived independently, and living within your means are the hard stuff that pay off in the long run IYH.
Also you might not be your most innovative self at work and you might not have glorious savings account for now. But this time will pass.

Government not dumb but wicked.
This is how to bring in socialist tyranny -
Get as many people as possible dependent on government handouts.
