Do you share your pass code/ password with your kids? Under 12? To your phone or computer?
I’ll answer too, I do not but I have lots of strict boundaries as a parent so I’m trying to gauge what’s acceptable
Feel free to share your perspective why/why not

Definitely not. They only use my phone or computer with permission and supervision.
Even though they’re both filtered, btw.

What's the point of the code?
(My kids know not to touch my phone, code or no code. They don't have the code to our tablets or laptop.)

no
never
but aware they may have seen me input it
too much sensitive texts
and too much temptation for a kid
too much high downside risk for a mistake and not any upside
or stuff may pop up randomly
hard no

No. They're the reason I have a password!

As a follow up
Would you be upset if a trusted adult gave your 9/10yo their code?

No and I switch it up and hardly use it myself and opt for fingerprint instead so that they can't pick up on my pin that easily.

Yes. I wouldn’t allow unsupervised access to that person anymore.

Well, the point of the password or passcode is so that my kids don’t have unlimited access, so sharing with them would be counterproductive.

I've never heard of anyone doing this. But some parents do not seem to password protect their phone which is mystifying as well.

Yes I'd be very upset and I would no longer trust that adult with my child.
