According to OU or the Blumnkrantz book/Star K, etc do I have to Toivel Probe of a new Meat Thermometer?

Can I Kasher an old Probe of Meat Thermometer, or would I ruin the wires in boiling water?

Probe detaches from LED display.

There’s also a difference between a probe and a thermometer. A probe gets attached to the oven, a thermometer only goes in the meat.
