Can anyone explain why in the world it’s at all justifiable to tell a parent that their child is not welcome to return for the final two months of school (from after Pesach through the end of the school year)? Does this ever happen in girls’ schools, or only with boys who might struggle to sit and learn for 9 or 10 hour days?

DS is a baby right now so BH we are not dealing with this personally, but my heart hurts thinking about the pain, shame, and hurt that a Jewish child would feel at not being wanted in a Jewish school—especially a school they have attended for years. Crying

Edited for typo, and to add that in a case where the student is a danger to themselves or others, such as aggression, violence, etc. I can hear the school’s concern. But not being able to sit still for hours on end? Seriously? That’s not a reason to kick out a student a few weeks before the end of the year.

Right. If that's the whole story, it's inexcusable. Of course, it's possible that there have been problems for years, and something happened now that made it impossible for the school to keep this child.
