Scared to go to sleep

My 19 month old was a very good sleeper, she went to sleep in her crib very nicely and took a great nap every day. Out of no where on Friday night I put her to sleep and she went nicely, five minutes later she started screaming, seemed like she was very scared of something. Since than she is so scared to go to sleep. Any time we mention sleep she cries and says no. The only way I get her to sleep is by holding her hand and staying with her for a very long time. She is waking up multiple times in middle of the night now as well and I am staying in her room for awhile till she falls asleep. Any idea why this happened and what I can do now? She is very happy during 5he day, it’s only affecting her when it’s either nap time or bedtime.
