Re: too many restrictions, some of these happened as a result of losing trust. We used to step away from the computer but he’d download programs without permission or use our credit card to buy something etc.
I’m scared to send him on playdates because he couple potentially use computers in a way he shouldn’t. |
I don’t mean to say that you mean to be hurting hi m n this way, but your post sounds extremely rigid and black and white . I suggest you get some real life advice from someone with credentials . Even the best mothers can make terrible mistakes when they are dealing with kids who are not cookie cutter.

This is a consequence to him going through his friends parents personal stuff. It only makes sense that he not be allowed to go to other's homes till he learns proper boundaries.
It seems like OP is dealing with an out of the ordinary situation, and your harsh assumptions are hurtful and unnecessary.
