We live in an area with no frum Jews here, so I'm not sure what to do.

Why not give to a non frum jew then. Maybe ask your rav I might be wrong conc mailing it. I mean we do it for relatives but mitzvah wise can't see it being counted

the mitzva is to send it via a shaliah.
I do not know if he has to be Jewish
So it looks like mailig it is better than self-delivering.
Probably it has to be delivered on Purim
Ask your Rav.

I dont think it counts as a mitzvah, maybe if its delivered on purim- ask a Rav!
of course you can always give it to each other
but why not find a non-frum Jew to give it to?

they are messianic, so I'd rather not give it to them.

I don't know if it is mutar to send via non-jewish shaliach. But if it is, why isn't the mailman considered a shaliach?

amother yes they are J4J.
that's what I'm trying to find out, if the non-Jewish mailman would pass for shliach.

the founder of j4j is not. the typical inductee of this cult is a yiddishe kind who had little if any jewish education, grew up in an assimilated home , and is looking for his roots. the organization uses just enough jewish buzzwords and concepts to sound plausibly jewish to someone who knows nothing or just a little. the organization, yemach shmam, is a christian missionary group with the specific objective of converting jews to christianity. knowing that most jews, even disaffected ones, will not be attracted to a group that states baldly "we want you to convert", this group (and all other "messianic jewish' orgs) tells them "come back to your roots. this is the true judaism"
