I have had great luck at Nordstrom rack. I have found beautiful, leather hand bags, name brand, well constructed, at a great price. My latest was a Rebecca Minkoff suede and leather bag.

I'd like to get something trendy and with a known brand. (not an obnoxious huge logo, but yes a brand)

If you can't relate, I totally get it and commend you for your practical attitude and super functional purse.

But I like to know what brands and styles people my age/stage are gravitating towards, and the previous thread made me wonder.

If I'm spending a few hundred dollars on something I want to make me feel good when I use it. (To spark joy as the kids are saying lol)

Please keep the suggestions coming!

I keep seeing people here imply that if they've seen a teen or 20 something old wearing a brand that must mean it's not a thing for their age group at all.

I've seen people from all ages and stages wear coach and Kate spade. If you go to the Midwest (in the nonJewish world) you see all age groups wearing Vera Bradley.

Why is there an assumption only one age group can wear a certain brand?

I think in general its less about the brand and more the style

In general, crossbody bags are less mature but something like these is a bit more mature the the ones younger people are wear

I love Madewell bags. Beautiful leather, no logos which is my preference.

Jimmy choo
Gucci
Burberry
Ferragamo
Prada
Valentino

Jimmy choo and Ferragamo I think will have in your price range. Some others might be too expensive but not sure. Maybe someone else knows

Another vote for cuyana. The look is quiet luxury, which I adore.

I would get this bag

I love the color because it's technically all year round and it can be worn both as a handbag and as a shoulder bag when this corresponding strap is added

I totally don't get the whole brands thing. expensive and well made? yes
diamonds- I get it. quality- I get it.
but if a bag looks mature, who cares if it's coach or tory burch or whatever? how can a brand be dominated by teens?
a relative told me "oh, ted baker is a chassidish brand" oh, really?
um, ted baker probably wouldn't know what a chassidish person WAS if it hit him in the face!
and the BRAND is chassidish???

I totally hear...and I still want a purse that's from an "in" brand, more than I want a purse that I just find aesthetically pleasing/good quality.

I don't want to spend $300 on a bag that I think is nice, and then feel dumb because it matches my 18 year old assistants bag.

If you can't relate, this thread won't be interesting to you. I started it as a spin off to a diff thread, feel free to start a spin off too, about why people care about brands!

(Fwiw, I grew up unable to afford anything. My mother would buy a new purse when her old one couldn't be repaired anymore, after several years of use. And she would buy her new purse from Payless shoes when it was BOGO...new shoes for $14.99 with a pleather purse thrown in. And she as perfectly happy with both! Lol. So I hear it. I just want something that fits in tho, and it's relatively harmless so I indulge myself.)

I just want to tell you OP that I love how you are responding to the people who are putting you down for what you like. You're totally honest and pushing them away without any hostility. If only everyone here was like you! This thread could have already been a 7-page war Smile
