My baby started walking around a month ago and he’s pretty much only walking at this point and barely crawling. He’s getting steadier every day bh but he’s still slightly wobbly.
I’m wondering when I’m supposed to buy him shoes?
Any ideas?

When you have a need for him to be walking outside the house.
Like running around in Shul, playing at the park, or even at the doctor’s office.

Barefoot as long as possible
When you need shoes like in park, barefoot shoes like robeez with flexible sole and wide toe box
When starting to run, more supportive first walkers like ten little or see Kai run

A month sounds fair.
I'd probably get by now.
If you want to wait, some of the local stores will be putting the shoes on sale in a bit.

I seem to remember the guidance is something like 4-6 weeks after they start walking. But the best is for them to walk around without shoes as they learn how to balance better.

When he walks well enough that you will take him for walks outside.

The guideline I heard was six weeks after they start walking.

For when you're concerned about the ground/flooring you want more of a 'barefoot' shoe in the beginning just so they have protection. But overall I have a 2 year old who is still barefoot a lot...barefoot is good for kids. There's no rush.

Pretty much when it gets annoying that he doesn't have shoes lol
Like when you want him or need him to walk outside on his own
