there is a board member on my childrens school board who has been so helpful so many times in so many ways. id like to show some hakaras hatov for all that he has done for my family. I dont know him or his family personally, so not really a family gift. also, cant really afford much. how do I show appreciation?

Flowers or a plant. Dh used to be president of our kids' school board, and every once in a while, a gift would show up. Dh was scrupulous about maintaining privacy, so I never knew what he did for people, but it did take lots of his time, and it was nice to see that people appreciated the effort.
