Which do you recommend?
Don't want to spend too much but want good quality and easy to clean.

All blenders are easy to clean once I learned you can put warm soap and water in it and blend that. Also don't let it sit out for a day or two before doing so.

We have the ninja and are happy with it.
It’s the one with shake cups. We have extra cups.

This
Same tip goes for blender sticks and hand held beaters.

Try to take your time and do research on internet. Maybe an American consumers forum that's reputable?

I also use a stick (immersion) blender.
Mine came with a a beaker so that I just make the smoothie in that and drink from there.
It washes very easily because I rinse off the stick right away - it stores in a drawer and the beaker is just like a regular glass.
A bonus is that it is the most convenient way to make sauces or sauces - much easier than a blender which I used to use because you don't have to transfer.
Mine came with a few other accessories like a whip which is very convenient if have to beat egg whites separately.
Mine is a Cuisinart.

ITA
I'm not crazy about blenders food processors and other devices (I have very limited space) but the immersion stick is small, easy and totally *useful*. The ultimate kallah gift IMHO.
Word of caution for all imamothers: Never ever touch the rotating knife when the stick is fully connected. Disconnect the stick itself or disconnect the electricity.
