Jewish schools where I live (in the south) follow a similar schedule. Start in mid August and end either the end of May or the first week of June.
This is the reason my kids can only go to sleep away camp for Session A...

I grew up in Colorado (secular schools) and we started second week of August and were done by third week of May. I was 8 or 9 when they changed the schedule and remember we were told it was so the seniors could have more of their year done before SAT/ACT testing and college applications. I remember being very angry because it meant my birthday was now the first week of school and I did not care one iota about those high school seniors‘ test scores 😂.
I just checked the day schools in Denver and they’re both basically Sept-June.

My school district's last week is this week, but we also start Early-Mid August.

Yes, next year we are actually finishing school the week before Shavuot.

I’m in MI and as far as I know, schools end in June and start after Labor Day or the week before.
