4 weeks ago my child's ankle was swollen and painful but she could bear weight on it. It was x-rayed and we were told that it's a sprain. There was no bruising and it slowly went down.
Yesterday my child complained of leg pain and when I got her into PJ's I saw that the ankle area is swollen but this time in a different place- the area where the leg and foot meet (on the talus bone). She could bear weight and wasn't in any major pain.
Today it's gone. What could it be?

Maybe it was more than a regular sprain and the x-ray didn’t show it, or it wasn’t treated properly and didn’t heal.
