The first year we went we stayed in residence inn. Since then we have always stayed in an air bnb.
We bring along all our own food, there isn't much there to buy.
For info I looked on imamother lol. Seriously there are so many threads here on it. I bought a notebook and wrote down all the ideas in every thread. You can also look at the websites mommy popping and discover lancaser.

We enjoy the pocono mountains. We've stayed in Bushkill, Lake Harmony, and the Lake wallenpaupek area over last few yrs. Rented an airbnb with lots of kid friendly stuff in the house (game room, swing set,pool) and then each day did 1-2 trips - boating, hiking/waterfalls, zoos etc. there are usually fairs going on in august - google for locations/times where its very affordable and kids love all the rides/shows - has for all ages. then we'd end the day with a bbq at our house, and a fire when it got dark. very relaxing for all of us, and way more relaxing for parents than a lancaster style trip waiting on long lines in hot amusement parks paying a ton...
