I’m looking to buy my teenage sister a really nice present for her birthday. She babysits for me all the time and never accepts payment. I’m willing to spend up to approximately $500. Any ideas?

Wow!
Brand name handbag

You can never go wrong with jewelry. A ring, or a pretty pendant.

The jewelry and cricut ideas are great. She’s not into designer bags unfortunately.

I agree. The “problem” is that she’s not the type who needs a whole lot to be happy. She’s good with whatever she has/gets. She’s also an extremely confident girl, so she doesn’t feel the need to impress friends etc. This is amazing in general, except now when I’d like to buy her a really special present.

Maybe you could get her an experience instead then?

Or give her the money in an envelope with a box of chocolates (or other food she likes)

Or an annual pass somewhere she likes

Or a watch

I was going to suggest Pandora jewelry, but if your budget is $500, you can get her a real ring instead.
Or a camera

I want to say Kol Hakavod to her/you/your mom.

It is so nice that she babysits frequently and doesn’t accept payment. Often sisters are either happy to get paid or try to avoid sitting.
It is amazing that you want to pay her and don’t feel entitled to her services. Being she hasn’t been paid, you now want to show your hakarat hatov and get her something very special.

I imagine your mom did something very right!
(I apologize if your mom was not great and I am giving her inappropriate credit)
