I'm certified after 04 but I can tell you if you're trying to get through to Albany, it is EXTREMELY hard because they don't put you on hold, just tell you to call back. I found that if I called the MINUTE they were opened (not on a Monday either), I usually got through to someone.

Good luck, this stuff ain't fun.

thanks everyone for replyung so quicly!

Here's my story:

I graduated right b4 they changed everything in 04, so I am under old regulations. I was married and having kids through out graduate school, I figured I would try to work, but I just couldn't do it, so I have worked as a Seit in a few cases in between having babies.

Now, my provisional license will expire in a yr and I haven't worked the mandatory hours to make it permanent.

So my question is:

Have any of you tried or had luck extending your provisional license?

What did you do? I really don't want to lose my license. I am thinking of maybe taking classes so that I could do EI, but then could I do that if my other license expires?

I would really appreciate any input.

not 100% sure, but I can check with someone for you if you want. or, if you have any connection to Sara Schenirer special ed prograrm, you can talk to Mrs. Shonek yourself. I don't remember the #, but she will prob. know all the answers.
Hatzlocha!

ANy of you ever file for an extension? If so would you mind PMing me, I have a couple of questions regarding how to answer the reason for extension: I wanted to stay home and take care of kids so I worked as A SEIT in meantime, but not sure does that go under hardship or matertinity leave ( I have no proof I am on Maternity leave). TIA!
