Look for Networx on the internet. My husband works for them, and they have a website for contractors. The way it works is you enter your zip code and you'll get four contractors who work your area and have been recommended by previous clients.
If you try it out, let me know how the experience is, if you wouldn't mind. They're not yet in my parents' area, so I haven't been able to find out from them what it's like, and I'd love to hear from someone if it's as good as it seems!! (It works off computer's cookies, and since mine show I'm not in the US, I don't have full access to it.)
