Has anyone ever done this themselves before? Do you have any good directions you can share? Any tips? Any websites and/or books you'd recommend? TIA!!

I did my dining room and kitchen chairs. I only did the seat part because the back was too hard and I also never got around to it.
Make sure you don't lose any screws Wink when you remove them.
Pull the fabric taught, not tight.
Make sure you have a good stapler and long enough staples.
Do the corners last.
Good Luck!!

sure it's as easy as folding over the material ... you need an electric staple gun ... might need some sponge cushioning ... and if you lose any screws you can always buy a pack Wink ... you can do it !!!

I just get the heaviest weight they sell in stores.
I didn't change the cushion, butI imagine foam of whatever thickness you want is good. If you live in Brooklyn, pm me where you can buy foam cut to any size, but not shape. Like they won't cut it the exact shape of your chair, I think.

I don't live in Brooklyn. I was planning on going to a craft store to see what they recommend and then just shop around until I find it the place that sells it the cheapest. And I don't mind cutting it myself. Wink

2 more things. make sure the fabric is in the same direction and right side up on all the chairs. if it's not right side up, make sure they're all the same. Wink

electric is powerful and will get the staple all the way in as the staples are thicker ...

as for the plastic ... fugedaboudit ... try using a spray on scotch guard ...

It's much better to get a solid rather than a print. Stripes are much harder to line up and look good than a nice solid.

Thgough solid will show dirt much quicker then say a floral design. Which would be easier then reall patterns to match up.

you can match anything up ... you merely need to buy extra material ... and cut from the same pattern ... people have their own taste ... so ... What
