I was away for 2 weeks and my bill this month was 218. I was so dissappointed. I thought it will be half of my july bill which was the same as august.

Do you live in a house or an apt? It makes a huge difference. I didn't get my bill yet (for apt.) but my parents just got theirs. They really conserve with hardly anyone ever being home during the day and it was over $600. Also, did they say it was estimated or they took a meter reading? Because if last month it was about that and they didn't take a reading, it is possible they just assumed this would be it and will give you a refund next month.

they raised rates about 25% in NY, I think it was on gas and electric. My gas bill for the past 7 months has been crazy then I got an adjusted bill that said we have actually been super overpaying....so now I don't have to pay that for a while. Bit electric is expensive in the summer. Try to keep lights off, unplug appliances when not using them etc. It really does help.

I also thought I'd get a smaller bill this month, because dd was away in camp, so one less AC running all night. Plus, I haven't been home all day for the last 3 weeks. since I started working, but it was $40 more than last month, $260 Sad

258.44 jumped up from 227.49 last month. it says I can go onto level payment plan for like 120 less than my bill, but itll be that much every month. should I enroll, or is it alot less in winter...I forgot already...

Honestly, it doesn't pay. In the winter I barely got a $100 bill. I used to do the level plan, but my bill was so much higher in the summer, that it never evened out, and at the end of the year, they hit me with a huge bill that was the difference that I owed them! It was like a $400 bill that I had to pay up.
