Do you pay your childcare on or off the books? How about cleaning help?

my cleaning guy is a foreign worker (he is great). I never even asked him if I could give him a check. I just give him cash.

I am yet to see a babysitter/cleaning lady who will give me her ss# and take check Exploding anger
Once your kids start daycare/preschool, you'll be able to saveo ntaxes. The maximum you can deduct pre-tax is 5000/year.

I pay on the books.

I pay her SS, Medicaid, and payroll taxes too.

Perhaps McCain should have chosen me as his running mate.

I pay for childcare with either cash, check, or a credit card (this is a fully-licensed childcare), and my cleaning help takes checks and has a business card, so I assume they are independent contractors (although I never asked).

Are your kids good kids? I noticed it all depends on that.
