Any ideas where one could buy the Medela "symphony" breast pump?
(suggestions for the cheapest place would be greatly appreciated. I think they run about $275 or $300)
Thanks

I'd recommend getting the Ameda Purely Yours and not the Medela. They are as high quality or superior (according to the LC's I've spoken to) and quite a bit cheaper. You are paying for the Medela name. The Medela didn't used to have variable speeds/cycles which the Ameda has already had - and when Medela added it, they jacked up the price from the PIS $100!!!!!
I recently bought replacement parts from here and they seem to have good prices.

BTW - do you mean the Medela Pump in Style (PIS)? The Symphony is a hospital grade pump and costs $1500 - $2000!

I have the Pump in Style and bought it on Ebay. Just a tip if you buy on ebay -- know the going price first (so you don't pay MORe than that!) and buy one that was new and unused. (unless you want to find out about sterilizing, kashering...? also - no warranty then, I think)

I doubt gmachs will give them out long term. And if you're going to rent, many times it's kdai already to buy. Especially if you're planning on using it for more than one kid.

In Melbourne, you can hire them from pharmacies. Do you have that option?

It costs about $30/month to rent, so if you are going to rent for more than a few months, it is worth it to buy one.

thanks momof3!
I am buying a pump from the jewish woman/site as you suggested. She's selling me the Pump In Style Original for $195, with free shipping.
(all other stores and locations selling same item for $250)
