My mother told me she once made something with fake pareve "bacon," and a big Rabbi came for dinner that night. His wife ate it, and him? He pushed all the "bacon" to the side of the plate and ate everything else. When his wife told him it was pareve, he said I THOUGHT it had to be something... Very Happy

Can I tell you my first reaction was, "EWWW!?"

But using vegetarian ingredients, my dd has taken parve, kosher "ham and cheese" sandwiches to school! Soy based deli slices, rice and tofu "cheese" and she was all set. It sure grossed out her friends.
