What is, in your experience, the best mascara to be very effective (very darkening, thickening and lengthening) without being clumpy? I find that generally only "light" mascaras will avoid clumping, but the best mascaras I owned were Bad Gal by Benefit & also many "two steps" (with the white and black sides).

What about you?

I buy expensive lipstick, blush, foundation, etc. but when it comes to mascara I can't bring myself to spend $15. The best inexpensive mascara, in my opinion, is the Maybelline Great Lash with the curved brush. I use blackest black and I've never had a clumping problem.

I use that brand too. Ruchel, do you wipe the mascara brush with a tissue before you apply it? I find that this minimizes clumping.

I used to use the Maybelline curved brush- blackest black, thought it was great until I tried the loreal Volumizing mascara. I switched and can't go back!

I like Almay, which goes on light and doesn't clump.

A few makeup artists that I know always use Maybelline. They spend money on other good quality products (mac eyeshadows for ex) but for mascara I was told Maybelline is the best. Don't know which specific one though is better. I think diff products work better for diff ppl.

Maybelline New York Great Lash, the pink and green tube is the best bang for your buck. A few coats of this and your lashes are longer and fuller.

You can also tilt the wand against the opening of the tube as you pull it out so excess mascara stays inside the tube.

Bobbi Brown says that if you roll the wand while applying the mascara it will be clump-free.
