My child was evaluated with the board of education and was denied services because the evaluation showed no problem. This was last year. I figured the teacher was a mismatch with my child. Now this year's teachers are saying the same thing - that she has difficulty following directions. We don't know if it's because of focus or memory or processing,etc.
I think she needs to be evaluated again - sometimes they make mistakes.
But I want to try someone really good that I can trust who can make a definitive diagnosis so I know if it's just a mushegas she has or something worse.
I think I want to go to someone private who is better than the board of ed.
If they say there is a problem, then I would go to the board of ed for services.
Does anyone know someone private who is really good?

You should talk to your childs ped about a doctors evaluation between that and talking to the school program that she is now she might come up with the answer you want.

Did you go through Evalcare? I just did and got approved for so much therapy I dont know what to do with it!

Which agency are they going to be giving you therapy from?

WEll he's iyh gonna go to yeled v'yalda's center for OT, and we're hoping the Yeled V'Yalda agency can provice speech and SEIT in cheder.

She is 6 years old and in first grade. I think because of her age it needs to go directly to the board of ed.
