2. A vintage tin lunchbox with my prescriptions.
3. A tiffin holding my lunch.
4. A thermos.
5. An extra sweater.
6. Shoes for work; I wear snowboots to commute.
7. Extra scarf.
8. Book to read.
9. Wallet.
10. Another book.
11. Pens, pencils, etc.

what's a tiffin? sounds like a small aquatic bird.

It's an Indian lunchbox made of stacking containers that lock together. It has a handle on top so you can carry it, and you put a different food in each container. It cuts way down on waste.

That's what they look like. And here's one filled.

OMG - thats what my bubby and mom use to get side dishes down to the succah! I've only seen them used on succos, but theyre really handy!

I have a bra (changed out of it before yoga, forgot to remove), arch supports (from sneaker shopping), digital camera, makeup (applied on the train on the way to work), random takeout menu, two forlorn tampons, my pills, a macys coupon, some random form, a bracelet, keys, an umbrella cover (the umbrella is not in the bag), an extra button, and some pens.

I need to get organized.

How many different dishes do you bring with you to work? And jeez, how big is your bag?

Also - I want a folding cane, if only to wack people with on the subway. The 6 train is not a happy place.

Which bag? the one I take to work, the one I take shopping, the one I take to council meetings, the one I take to visit my mother, the one I take to weddings....?

The work bag:
Lunch
Supper if working late
Thermos
Planner, current year
Planner, next year, starting around November
Tissues
Lipstick
Lip balm
Personal cell phone
Work cell phone
Work credentials
Book, magazine or paper to read
Books to return to library
Work keys
House keys
Hand sewing project in season
Distance glasses
Computer glasses
Sunglasses in season
Folding umbrella
Mail to post
Pens
Computer flash drive
Cough drops in season
Reusable grocery bag
Swiss army knife

That's the usual lot. Sometimes the umbrella stays home, depending on the forecast, and sometimes the grocery bag does. .

I bring a 4-tier tiffin, a thermos and a fork and spoon. I eat 2 meals, plus snacks at work. The thermos holds soup, one tier holds a salad, one tier holds fruit, one tier holds bread and desert for with the soup and the other tier holds the main course for my other meal.

My husband once joked that I was like some action movie hero with a fast deploying cane. It folds into four, but if you take it out and shake it, it snaps into a full size one in a second.

I use a backpack instead of a purse. Very Happy

I'm amused to discover that tiffins are used elsewhere. I love mine.

Wallet with plastic money, everybody’s insurance cards, a coin collection enough to buy a small used car, breathmints, a tampon probably from my Sheva Brachos still, and receipts from stuff I no longer own. Imagine if my bag would be bigger.

Just last week dh got me a new bag for my birthday. I’m in love with it because it’s what I was dreaming of and didn’t know it existed!

I hate purses. my husband surprised me last year with a small napsack that I put everything in it.

I usually just have keys, wallet, tissues and gum.

when I go somewhere with baby I also stick diapers, wipes, formula, water and bottles and a shmatta to wipe her and a change of clothing.

if I am going out alone or without baby and I have pockets, I only take my phone, a few shekels and my credit card in my skirt pockets if I can.
