Oats vs quick oats in baking...

if a baking recipe calls for oats, can I use quick oats? (I know nothing about baking, or oats, but you gotta start somewhere:) thanks

I wouldn't use quick oats, unless called for. They will be too mushy.

Regular oats are bigger so yeah, they'd be better.
