I saw a mom at school tottering around on those espadrilles. They are pretty but look hard to walk in. If they cover most of the foot, do you think they are tznius or kinda "hot" looking?

Well, I usually wear heels, cause flats look terrible on me, so I'm used to the height. Mine are closed toe and closed back (I dont wear open toe shoes). If its not acceptable in your community , I wouldn't wear them.

BTW, you can cut the laces a bit so you don't have to tie them all the way up!

espidrilles are probably the most comfortable heals they make.
flats are very in syle as well, with pretty patterns and designs on them or in different colors

espadrilles are still in, but fading out. I would personally go with a wedge/ platform with a peep toe. like this one

(and this is an espadrille for the woman who wanted a link)

aerosole's has a really comfortable pair of peep toes. not the absolutely most flattering shape but not bad either and the heel is nice. called "sleigh thread"

my first thought when I saw espadrilles was that I dont like them at all! but then I started seeing them more and more and now ive even seen a pair or two that I could see myself wearing. but im wondering if repeated exposure just started having an effect on me. like if you see enough pppl wearing them you start thinking- hm...maybe theyre not as ugly as I thought.
for now im going to hold off on them and see if I change my mind again

I also didn't like espidrilles when they first came back in style, as I did with pointy toes and many other styles! As usual, they grew on me, and now I own a pair. Albeit, a pair that's not difficult to walk in.

This is so funny!

Just yesterday, (before this thread even existed), I actually Googled Espadrilles!!!!

I wanted to see them in all the colors and styles they come in...

They are on sale, here in Israel, for 99 shekels.
I went to the shoe-store yesterday, to check them out, but they ran out of my size in Black... :-(

I'm gonna check some of our other local shoe-stores!
I really like them!

I think they look really good with a short flairy skirt and a cute top.

Something about the high ones with long straps look too "inviting" to be tznius. Is it just me?

Crocs are in now-see link below. You might think they are ugly. I did when I first sall them (and still do), but they are very trendy and comfortable! I love my crocs, as ugly as they may be, they take me all over the streets of NY... and it's not just me, I see them on everyone else as well.
