Can anyone recommend a home inspector / engineer?

Also, how much can we expect to pay? $500? $1000?

I think it depends how big the property is, and maybehow many rooms are in the house as well. We had two done by the same person. In the first house we were charged $450- second house which was bigger (and also property was bigger) we were charged $525-(or $550). At the second inspection we used a $25 coupon off that we got after concluding hte first inspection.

I think we paid about $300. Get a highly recommended one, and they say that you should NOT get recommendations from the seller's real estate agent.

Sounds high but completely depends on size of home and what reports/tests he is doing. Also where are u located?

We bought in Baltimore 3 1/2 years ago. Medium size house. I think we paid $450. We were told there is a flat minimum and that covers 2 hours and then there is a fee per hour after that. That is why it fluctuates on the size of the house.
